Our Process

Whether in-house or your EMG Provider of choice we do the work so you can focus on patient care and outcome.

Step 1

Referrals

Fax your patient referrals to (949) 703-7615.

Patients who benefit from EMG/NCS typically have radiating pain, weakness or numbness lasting longer than 3 weeks. See a list of possible diagnoses here.

Step 2

Scheduling

After we receive your referral we handle all scheduling and keep you informed every step of the way.

Patients can be seen at multiple locations. 

Step 3

Testing

All tests are conducted by a Board-Certified Provider.

Tests can be done in-house or at our office locations in Bristol,  Elizabethton and Tennessee.

Step 4

Reports

EMG/NCS data is interpreted by our Board-Certified Provider and completed within 48hrs after patient visit.

Provider available for case discussions as needed.

Common Diagnoses

Mononeuropothy

Abnormality isolated to a single nerve which results in impaired movement, sensation, or other function.

  • Carpal tunnel (median nerve)

  • Cubital tunnel (ulnar nerve)

  • Sciatic

  • Peroneal nerve (knee)

  • Radial nerve (upper arm)

  • Phrenic nerve

Radiculopathy

Commonly associated with compression of a nerve in the spine that can cause pain, numbness, tingling, weakness in the extremities, spine, and trunk.

  • Cervical

  • Thoracic

  • Lumbar

  • Sacral

Polyneuropathy

Dysfunction of many peripheral nerves at the same time often related to a

  • Genetic

  • Endocrine

  • Toxic

  • Deficiency

Plexopathy

Disorder affecting networks of nerves typically as they pass through the shoulder or across the hip. Symptoms include altered sensation, pain, and weakness.

  • Brachial plexus

  • Lumbosacral plexus

Myopathy

Neuromuscular disease often with weakness, cramps, stiffness, spasm.

  • Polymyositis

  • Dermatomyositis

  • Inclusion body myositis

  • Myotonia congenita

  • Myotonic dystrophy

Motor Neuron Disease

Disorders that destroy nerve cells often leading to difficultly moving, speaking, breathing, and swallowing.

  • Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)

  • Multifocal motor neuropathy with conduction block (MMNCB)

  • Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA)

  • Post-polio
